Renewable energy expert, Mark Gardiner, shared his knowledge of how construction companies can lay the foundations for a more sustainable future during a summit hosted by East Surrey College.
Mark, one of Raven Renewables’ Business Development Managers, was invited to attend the ‘Green Construction’ event as a guest speaker, providing energy-efficient solutions as the industry journeys towards its net zero carbon target.
During his presentation, he outlined how Raven Renewables has helped affordable housing providers, councils, developers, commercial companies, and charities to reduce their carbon footprint and make vital savings on energy bills since it began trading in 2021.
Delegates from 25 key construction companies based in the Surrey, South-East, and Greater London Authority areas also heard about successful projects that the Redhill-based renewable energy specialist has completed.
As a recent example, Mark explained how Raven Renewables installed 85 solar panels across five roofs at The Grange Centre in Bookham, enabling the charity to reduce is carbon footprint and tackle its ever-increasing energy bills.
Mark said: “As a passionate advocate of renewable energy technologies, it was great to find out about the challenges that the construction industry is facing and to provide genuinely sustainable solutions that can help businesses to future-proof the projects they deliver, benefitting both the environment and the economy.
“We are in a period of huge change but that change also offers unique opportunities to improve lives and make a difference to the wider community. By working together and sharing ideas at events such as Green Construction, we can lay the foundations for a far brighter future.”
