Heat Pumps
Air source heat pumps use a compressor to transfer heat from the outside air to water. This heated water is then used to warm your rooms via radiators or underfloor heating. The hot water can also be stored in a cylinder for use in taps, showers, and baths. The unit is installed outside your property and resembles an air conditioning unit. Air source heat pumps can operate even in sub-zero temperatures, as low as –25C, making them a reliable and effective heating solution.
For the summer months, heat pumps can also be used to cool your home by reversing the process to extract heat from the indoor air and transferring it to the outside.
Air source heat pumps work best when the property is well insulated. And when used in combination with solar panels, heat pumps can create highly efficient heating and cooling systems. The solar panels can either be used to directly power the heat pump or can be used to charge a battery bank that powers the heat pump.
Battery Storage
Battery storage allows you to store the additional electricity generated by your renewable energy system. You can then use this stored energy during periods of higher usage.
Battery storage solutions can also help you to reduce your energy bills, by drawing on the stored energy during peak tariff periods.
