We’re pleased to announce that we’ll soon be delivering our second community centre project this year, carrying out energy and cost saving measures to Haslewey Community Centre in a project that could save almost £500,000 in energy costs over 25 years.

Following the success of our previous project with The Grange Centre in Bookham, we have been chosen to install solar panels and battery storage units to the community building in Haslemere, which hosts a plethora of activities for local residents, from bingo to belly dancing.

The solar panels, 62 in total across four roofs, will generate almost 23,000 kWh in energy per year, providing over one third of the electricity needed by the building.

Mark Gardiner, Business Development Manager, said: “We’re excited about getting these renewable energy measures underway for the Haslewey Community Centre team. They will make a dramatic difference to their running costs and the services they can provide for the community, reducing the centre’s reliance on costly and less sustainable energy sources, and of course helping towards our goal of lowering carbon emissions from buildings.”

Raven Renewables also help with sourcing grants and funding for sustainable energy measures and has secured £45,000 in funding from the Community Infrastructure Levy to cover a large proportion of the installation costs.

Kevin Morris, Chair of Haslewey Community Centre, said of the project: “We have been delighted with the service and support we have had from Raven Renewables. Choosing them for our installation was simple, not just for the help they have provided but based on the ethos behind their company.”
